JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa has prepared a tempting invitation for lovers of culinary travel — one well worth the journey from Phuket to Khao Lak. Over two evenings, on 26 and 27 February, the resort on Thailand’s Andaman coast will welcome a guest chef from another JW Marriott landmark — this time from the banks of the majestic Mekong River.
Titled From River to Sea, the programme unites the cuisines of Thailand and Vietnam in a contemporary dialogue, presented by Chef Eak of Drift Beach Bar & Grill (Khao Lak) and Chef Đinh Thị Nhật Anh of JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon.
The collaboration explores shared culinary heritage, refined technique, and a deep respect for the rivers and seas that shape both food cultures.
“At JW Marriott Khao Lak, we are always seeking meaningful ways to build bridges between cultures through thoughtfully curated experiences,” says Mathieu Sneyers, Director of Marketing Communications. “From the Mekong to the Andaman, this collaboration demonstrates how cuisine can tell the story of place, people, and provenance.”

THB 1,790++ per person
The opening chapter of From River to Sea unfolds beneath the open sky. Set against the backdrop of the Andaman Sea, the Vietnamese Street Food Buffet pays homage to the vibrant street cuisines of Vietnam and Thailand, reinterpreted with elevated technique and premium ingredients.
Guests can expect Fine de Claire oysters alongside freshly prepared sushi, sashimi, and handcrafted rolls. Vietnamese classics take centre stage with Pho Bo, Bun Cha Ha Noi, Bo Kho slow-braised beef, fresh tiger prawn spring rolls, and grilled lemongrass pork skewers.
From the Thai kitchen come bold, familiar flavours: live Som Tam and Larb stations, Phad Thai prepared à la minute, wok-fried rice, traditional curries, and an abundant Andaman seafood barbecue.
The evening concludes on a sweet note with classic Thai desserts, coconut ice cream, and mango sticky rice.

4-Hands Dinner – Thai & Vietnamese Inspired Set Menu
THB 1,590++ per person
Friday evening brings a more intimate and refined finale, led by the Khao Lak and Saigon chef duo. Guests are invited to a specially curated six-course set menu, prepared “in four hands.”
The experience opens with flavours of Phang Nga: crab croquettes and crispy rice with scallops and vegetables from the JW Garden. Vietnamese starters follow — a herb-forward seafood salad, fresh spring rolls, and grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves.
For the main courses, the chefs present pork tortellini in a Northeast-style consommé, turmeric-infused chicken in coconut curry, and a standout A5 Japanese Wagyu ribeye, finished with a Vietnamese signature sauce.
Dessert offers a delicate regional close: lotus seed sweet soup with longan, followed by coconut panna cotta with passionfruit and mango.
As JW Marriott notes, the menu captures Thai boldness and Vietnamese refinement — distinct in character, yet harmonious in expression.
