Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles

In her mission to preserve the traditions of Thai weaving and breathe new life into this ancient craft, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother established the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles.

The museum is located within one of the buildings of the Grand Palace in Bangkok. Constructed in the 19th century, the building is an architectural landmark – but the treasures it holds are even more remarkable.

The museum’s collection includes both historical royal garments and modern fashion pieces created for Her Majesty. The display is enriched with textiles from neighboring countries, offering broader regional context.

Modern chut thai royal attire has always held a special place in the museum’s exhibitions, serving as a vivid example of how tradition can be reimagined as the foundation for contemporary elegance.

In August 2025, the museum unveiled a new exhibition titled “Chut Thai: Dressing the Nation in Its Heritage.” It will remain open to the public until April 2028.

The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles is open daily from 9AM to 4:30PM, admission is free.
