Phuket Yachting Explained
Renowned as Asia’s premier cruising area, Phuket offers first-class marinas, international-level service providers, and all types of boats imaginable.
What is a Marina?
A marina is a specially designed harbor with moorings and facilities for yachts and small boats. Unlike commercial ports, which are built for cargo and large vessels, marinas serve recreational boating and luxury yacht owners. Also setting marinas apart from ports are lifestyle amenities ranging from cafés and restaurants to premium real estate.
How many marinas does Phuket have?
The island boasts several well-developed marinas that cater to both private yachts and luxury charters:
- Yacht Haven Marina
- Ao Po Grand Marina
- Royal Phuket Marina
- Phuket Boat Lagoon
- Chalong Pier
Also available for mooring are smaller piers and bays, such as Ao Yon and Nai Harn Bay.
