Phuket foodies are not easily impressed by fancy words or glossy photos. What truly matters is the dining experience itself – whether it meets your expectations or not. My experience at The 7th Floor left me convinced that this is a place I will return to time and again.

True to its name, The 7th Floor is a rooftop restaurant offering stunning views of the Andaman Sea. While such a feature is typical of Phuket’s luxurious establishments, it’s a delightful surprise for a casual venue where you can drop in for lunch or a cup of coffee.

The menu at The 7th Floor was another pleasant surprise. While many Phuket restaurants claim to offer Mediterranean cuisine, most limit the concept to the dish names alone. The 7th Floor, however, goes the extra mile by sourcing its ingredients directly from the region.

Using imported products is crucial for classic Italian dishes, which are renowned for their simplicity. The legendary flavor comes from the authentic taste of the finest fresh produce, rather than from complex preparations.

Take, for example, the Caprese Salad, which features just tomatoes, Mozzarella, and pesto. The recipe leaves no room for cheap substitutes, as each ingredient must shine on its own.

Freshness is the second pillar of Mediterranean cuisine. No chef can deliver a fresh octopus from the Aegean Sea to Phuket, the best alternative is sourcing top-quality seafood from Andaman and serving it at its freshest.

This is precisely what Chef Maxim of The 7th Floor does with his Octopus Carpaccio. He uses a locally-sourced mollusk, dresses it with Sicilian lemon juice, and… Voilà! The octopus is served with an authentic Romesco sauce made from ripe tomatoes, smoked bell peppers, and extra virgin olive oil.

A special nod goes to the pasta. While many restaurants may boast “homemade” pasta but get it from a supplier, Chef Maxim dedicates his time to actually making it by transforming top-grade Semola Flour into Tagliatelle in his own kitchen.

When I mentioned my intention to become a regular at his restaurant, Chef Maxim surprised me with a question: “What menu would you like me to create for you?”

It turned out that The 7th Floor now offers nutritional plans developed by the renowned Sole Mio Clinic. You can set your health goals with a nutrition specialist, receive a personalized nutritional plan, and then enjoy your Mediterranean meals at The 7th Floor while moving toward your target. Of course, moving physically is also recommended for quick results!
